Faulty number plates to be fined

Mysuru, December 23:- Vehicle owners of the city who write names and symbols on the number plates of their vehicles have to be careful here onwards as the police department has decided to collect fines from such violators.

Police have decided to take strict action against those who write the names of various organisations and president of the organisations, names of gods, various symbols on the vehicle number plates. Even if the numbers are not according to the law on the number plates, the vehicle owners will have to pay the fine. The police have given 7-day time in Bengaluru to get the number plates corrected.

Even the Mysuru city traffic police have received the notification from the transport department. RTO officials will hold a meeting to decide on the implementation of the circular. The officials of the forest department will hold a meeting and take a call shortly. They will finalise the operation process as to whether the drivers should be given a time of a week or they should start the action directly.

Many people who had their vehicle number as 8055 were seen getting the numberplates written as BOSS. The officials will consider it as an offence and hefty fines will be collected from them. (MR\KS).
