The inauguration of a one week faculty development program (FDP) on ‘Internet of things (IoT) and its Applications’ was held at MBA conference Hall of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of engineering, Mysuru, on Thursday.
The FDP was organised by Electronics and Communication department of SJCE on the occasion of birth centaury celebration of Suttur seer Dr Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the founder President of JSS Mahavidyapeetha. Dr M N Shanmukha Swamy, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication department was the convener and Dr Sankaraiah and Dr U B Mahadeva Swamy coordinated the programme.
A V Srikantan, Principal, RTTC, BSNL, Mysuru was the chief guest and Dr Syed Shakeeb Ur Rahman, Principal, SJCE presided over the function. Dr B Shivamurthy, Vice Principal (PG) and Dr S K Prasad, Coordinator TEQIP-II were the special invitees.
A V Srikantan said that by 2020 all are going to be terminated as things on the universe and the human being will become a mediator between two devices and the devices are going to interact with each other without human interference. He also added that IOT is the future trend of communication.
Principal Dr Syed Shakeeb Ur Rahman said that the three research labs have been established, investing two crores which can be utilized by the staff, students and research scholars of electronics and communication, electronics and instrumentation, and computer science department. He also added that the institute has acquired the university status which enables the SJCE to rise to the level of IITs and IISc.
