Fervour and gaiety mark Christmas celebrations

Mysuru, December 25:- Fervour and gaiety marked Christmas today as members of Christian community thronged many churches in the city to offer prayers here on Monday.

Religious events are being held from 11 pm since yesterday. Bishop K A William led prayers at St Philomena’s church. Carol songs were being sung from 11 pm to 12 am. Bishop delivered his Christmas message in Kannada. Prayers began in the morning. Prayers will be held in Tamil from 5 am, in Kannada from 6 am and in English from 7 am. Prayers will be held in Kannada at 6 pm. The celebration will be held inside churches this year. Bishop has kept the idol of infant Jesus in the crib. The idol of Santa Claus has been a major attraction. (MR/KS).
