Festive mood prevails in Mysuru on Ugadi eve

Mysuru, April 5:- People thronged the Devaraja Market complex and Dufferin Clock Tower here today on Ugadi eve to purchase fruits, flowers and new clothes.

To welcome Ugadi which symbolises the beginning of the New Year as per the Hindu calendar, the people also thronged Vanivilas Market, Agrahara Market and other commercial points in the city. This is an auspicious time and marks the beginning of spring.

Women, girls and children were seen shopping at garments’ showrooms and textile shops for the auspicious Ugadi festival in the city and across the state, on Saturday (April 6). (NGB, HN)
