Fight over petty issue; police intervene to thwart it

Mysuru, May 20:- Fight over a petty issue threatened to snowball into a major controversy, but the timely intervention by the police seems to have settled the issue.

A vehicle parked in front of a shop led to a  fight at Mandi Mohalla here on Sunday. The fight took place as people of a particular community parked their vehicle in front of a shop belonging to another community member. An FIR was also filed at Mandi Mohalla Police Station in this connection.

Enraged by the FIR, the community members, while returning from the police station, damaged the vehicles parked in front of the houses of other community. Enraged by the attack, the vehicle owners were getting ready to retaliate. Mandi Police visited the spot immediately and stopped further violence. Police led by DCP (law and order) M Muthuraj arrived at the spot to take stock of the situation. (MR/KS)
