The Fine arts and handicrafts exhibition organised as part of the Mysuru Dasara Festival was inaugurated at Kalamandir premises on Monday.
A mesmerising piece of art works and handicrafts were kept for display at the Suchitra Art gallery for the public at the Mysuru Dasara Art exhibition organised by the Fine arts and handicrafts sub-committee of Mysuru Dasara. The programme was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner D Randeep.
Addressing the media persons he said, “A picture or art work is worth a thousand words. The fine arts and handicrafts exhibition organised as part of the Dasara festivity has created a great platform for the artists and craftsmen of the state to exhibit their talent and skills. Exhibitions of these kinds will encourage artistes and in the mean time attracts the tourists to come across various art works.”
Over fifty and odd art works including painting, sculptures, drawing, graphic art, photographs, traditional paintings and contemporary art works were kept for display at the exhibition.
Assistant Director of Kannada and culture department H Channappa, MUDA Commissioner and Deputy special officer of Dasara art and crafts sub-committee Mahesh, Working president and Dean of CAVA Basavaraj and others were present.
