FIR registered against person faking as journalist

Mysuru, April 8:- Mandi Police has registered a complaint against a man who was faking as a journalist and was roaming around amid the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

Mandi Police Inspector Narayana Swamy has registered a complaint. When he was inspecting with his staff near St Joseph’s Cathedral (St Philmena’s Church) Circle, a biker was roaming around unnecessarily. When the police stopped him at 6:45 pm on April 5, he said his name was Irfan Pasha and gave an ID card showing him as the district vice president of Human Rights Association. When asked again, he told that he was a journalist and gave an ID card of Indian Human Rights News Time media. He didn’t answer any of the questions of the police properly and sped away, leaving behind his ID cards. The police chased him, but couldn’t track him down.  His bike registration number too was not visible clearly.

Despite knowing the severity of the situation, this fake journalist was moving around unnecessarily, the police said. (MR/KS)
