Mysuru, December 14:- Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar has instructed the concerned department to issue the first copy of birth or death certificate free of cost.
He was speaking at a meeting of birth and death registration committee at DC’s office here on Thursday.
“The registration on E – Janma software is not fully effective in the district. Awareness should be created to avoid delay in registration of births and deaths. Registration of adoption, second marriage and other sensitive issues have to be done according to the government instructions. During death registration, Aadhaar registration is a must. Registration officer has to verify the date, time and place of death in FIR and postmortem copies,” he said.
District Health and Family Welfare officer Dr Basavaraju, Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare Department K Radha and others were present. (MR/KS)
