First round of Young Innovator Hunt held

Science Ashram, a city-based practical science education centre, recently concluded the first round of Young Innovator Hunt-2016.

The competition organised, with an intention to ignite a spark of curiosity in the young minds, saw over 400 students’ participation of grade 4 to 10 from various schools in the city. The students were given an innovation kit comprising a few essential components to build an air propelled car. The innovation kit included a propeller, motor and a battery. The competitions were categorised into participants, performers, winners, champions and innovators based on their performance and were awarded suitably with medals, trophies and tool kits.

The Young Innovator trophy was bagged by Eric Peter and Aryan Devaiah of NPS School who also received Science Ashram programme award worth Rs 12,000 as a scholarship.

Workshop for students

A day-long workshop for the students of Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya titled ‘Get Pu77led’ was organised recently by the Science Ashram. Over 50 students participated in the workshop; designed tangram pieces and categorised them into different shapes.
