Five wood smugglers arrested by Hunsur Rural Police

Mysuru, January 11:- Hunsur Rural Police have arrested five wood smugglers who were elusive since four months.

The police recovered teak wood pieces worth Rs 30,000 and Rs 35,000 in cash, a Scorpio vehicle, tools, and weapons.

The arrested have been identified as Ameer of Koppa village, Francis, Fairoz, Ramesh and Sunil of Siddapura. They were trying to rob vehicles on Madikeri Highway near Bore Hosahalli village on Wednesday night when  Police Sub-Inspector Puttaswamy and his team apprehended them.

Basappa, Lokesh, Santhosh, Dinesh, Mohan, Kumar, Naveen, Ravi, and others took part in the operation. (MR/KS).
