The 12-day flower show, organised as part of the Dasara celebrations concluded in the city on Wednesday. The flower show was organised by the Dasara subcommittee and Department of Horticulture at Curzon Park, Mysuru.
Main attractions of the flower show were the replica of ‘Gate of India’, fighter plan ‘Tejas’, vintage cars and tongas, made of flowers. It is said that the flower show had more than two lakh visitors in a span of two weeks.
Speaking at the valedictory function, titular Maharaja Yaduveer Krishna Datta Chamaraja Wodeyar said that the flower show adds glamour to the Dasara celebrations and people get entertained by watching the replicas of famous monuments made from flowers.
District In-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa said that money has been released by the government to build a glass house at Karzan Park. Glass house will increase the beauty of Mysore city, he said.
Yaduveer’s wife Trishika Kumari, cheif executive officer of Zilla panchayat Shivashankar, Zilla Agricultural Committee vice-president Dr D Prabhamandal and others were present at the valedictory function. Prizes were distributed for various winners who participated in the flower show.
