Suggesting farmers including sugarcane growers to focus on multiple crops for yield various food and commercial cultivations, chief executive officer of Neethi Ayog, Amithab Kanth assured farmers those gathered in the two days state level conference here on Tuesday, that he will bring notice to prime minister Narendra Modi on all issues what Karnataka farmers are facing and demands raised by farmers in this conference.
He was speaking after inauguration of the conference, organised by state sugarcane growers association in association with CFTRI.
Assuring farmers that he will disscuss on including sugarcane and sericulture under insurance frame that the Neeti Ayog initiated, he requested sugarcane growers to use technology that promotes little water for cultivation, so that it also helps to promote sugarcane under agriculture insurance criterions.
Lauding state government online market intiatiative, He suggested farmers to use technology for avoiding middleman interference in their business. He also pointed that the central government initiated series of farmers friendly policies under neeti ayog projects and farmers have to utilize all the scheme.
State sugarcane growers association president kuruburu shanthakumar, Karnataka krushi bele ayoga president Dr T N Prakash Kammaradi, NABAARD Karnataka region chief general manager M I Ganigi, Gandhi Agriculture University Vice Chancellor H Shivanna, Raitha Mithra farmers producers company director T V Gopinath, syndicate bank Deputy general manager S M Desayi, Iffco manager C S Patil were present. About 2000 farmers were attended.
