Fodder Scam: 14 years jail to Lalu Prasad Yadav

Prime News, National, Business, Ranchi (Jharkhand), March 24:- RJD President and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced 14 years in jail in the fourth fodder scam case.

A special CBI court in Ranchi today awarded him a 7-year imprisonment under Indian Penal Code and another 7 years under Prevention of Corruption Act. The court also imposed 60 lakh rupees as fine.

The case relates to fraudulent withdrawals of over 3 crore rupees from December 1995 to January 1996 from the Dumka treasury.

The RJD Chief is already serving a jail term in Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Central Jail since last December after his conviction in three other fodder scam cases.-(NGB, Inputs: Agencies)
