Mysuru, August 8:- A workshop on paddy growing was organised at Suttur Agriculture Science Centre in association with Agricultural Technology Institution and ICAR JSS Agricultural Science institute, Suttur.
Dr Arun Balamatti advised farmers to follow quick farming methods as there has been a delay in the release of water from the canals.
Dr MM Shankar, retired research director of GKVK, Bengaluru inaugurated the event. He said that the farmers can grow up to 70 quintals of paddy per acre of farm. He said that the farmers are now growing only 20-25 quintals which are not up to the capacity of the land.
Vice president of the Agricultural Technology Institution Krishnamurthy, scientists Shamaraj, S Satish and others were present. More than 80 farmers took part in the seminar. (MR/SH)
