Mysuru, December 17:- Higher Education and District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda continued his visit to various hospitals in the city for the second day on Monday and enquired about the health of the patients who have been here after consuming poisoned food at Sulwadi Maramma temple last week.
On Monday the minister visited KR Hospital, JSS Hospital and Apollo Hospital in the city and advised the medical fraternity to extend the best treatment to the patients.
A person has succumbed to food poisoning at JSS Hospital here on Monday.
“Patients at the hospital are responding well to the treatment. Two patients have died at Apollo Hospital. Doctors are trying their best to save the patients. A high-level probe will be ordered into the tragedy and the guilty will be punished. Minister D K Shivakumar will be visiting K R Hospital and we will discuss with him about the development of the hospital. There are 14 ventilators at the hospital and it requires more ventilators. Shivakumar has assured of solving it after the Belagavi Assembly session. I had a severe pain in the leg. I could not get up from my bed after treatment. So I could not visit the hospital. My colleagues and concerned officials have done a good job. Patients are getting a good treatment,” Devegowda said while on his first day’s visit to KR Hospital on Sunday.
The minister enquired about the health of one Sushila Bai being treated at JSS Hospital and spoke to her sister Nalina Bai.
He offered Rs 10,000 to the family of a person who died at Apollo Hospital for his final rites. When the family members tried to touch his feet to thank him, he asked them not to do so and asked them to be strong in this hour of grief. (MR/KS)
