Forest officials rescue trapped female leopard

Mysuru, July 30:- A female leopard that was caught in a snare at a private farm in HD Kote taluk on Sunday was rescued following the timely intervention of forest officials.

The leopard was caught in a snare at a farm in K Belthur village in HD Kote taluk. The villagers immediately alerted the forest officials who in turn rushed to the spot rescued the trapped leopard.

The animal was tranquilised by a veterinarian and then shifted to the hospital at Sri Chamarejendra Zoological Gardens here. The leopard is recuperating now.

According to villagers, a snare was set up inside the farm by the owner to avoid intrusion of wild animals into the farm. The farm owner has denied setting up of the snare. -KK
