Four arrested in Periyapattana robbery case

Mysuru, July 18:- Periyapattana Police have arrested four people who robbed a vehicle carrying grapes and guava at Panchavalli village on Hunsur-Virajpet state highway.

Nagesh, in a pick up vehicle (KL 13 V 4034) was going to Talachery in Kerala with fruits from Bengaluru. Four people on another black Bolero car stopped him and asked him for RMC payment receipt. Nagesh showed them the receipt. They made him sit in the black pick up and forcibly took Rs 5,000 and phone from him. They dropped him at Darga Road and took away his vehicle as well. Nagesh filed a complaint at Periyapattana Police Station.

The police have arrested Peer Pasha, Syed Shabaz, Mohammed Hanif, and Mohammed Siddique. They were arrested along with the stolen goods at Hale Kesare in Mysuru, at a godown of one Vijayendra. The police have recovered the stolen Bolero pick up vehicle, cash of Rs 40,000 and the vehicle used for robbery. During the enquiry, they confessed to robbing vehicles carrying goods on the state highway. The court has remanded them to judicial custody.

ASP Aiyappa, Dy SP Bhaskar Rai, Circle Inspector Siddaiah, S S Ravi Kiran, constables Narayana Shetty, Syed Hidayatulla, Aslam Pasha, Rudresh, Habibulla carried out the operation. SP Amit Singh has lauded the efforts of the policemen. (MR/KS).
