NIE Institute of Technology had organized Freshers’ Day on Monday for the new batch of students. Guest of Honour, Prof R Indira addressed the gathering and advised the students to work- hard, succeed in life and contribute back to the society.
She also expressed that the institution was larger than an individual and expressed her concern over the low percentage of students getting into higher education. She emphasised the importance of selecting one’s own field of interest and pursuing their career.
She advised the students to continue their association with the institution even after the completion of the course and be connected to the society. She advised the parents not to force their dreams on their children and instead asked them to support and encourage them to fulfil their own dreams. She also urged the teachers to teach with social responsibility.
Srinath Batni, Hon. President NIE Group of Institutions, delivering the presidential address, explained the legacy of NIE. He called upon the students to “adopt technology and engineering knowledge to solve real-time complex problems.
He reminded the students about their parents’ sacrifice for their bright future and urged them to sacrifice more to fulfil their parents’ expectations.
Aalaap, Alumnus of NIEIT, was felicitated for his outstanding achievement in Golf. Dr G L Shekhar, Principal, NIE, expressed that education has to come through experience and he gave a call to students to start experiencing education.
Special invitee Sri Rajagopala Kadambi, managing committee of NIE Group of Institutions, Suma, Principal, NIE first Grade College, and the staff of NIEIT were present. Prof T Anantha Padmanabha, Principal, NIEIT welcomed the gathering. Divya S and Shreelakshmi, G L moderated.
