Mysuru, November 8:- “My family believed that God is everywhere. I used to apply the soil on my forehead as prasadam when I was in jail. Now, I have fulfilled my vows to Lord Srikanteshwara,” said former minister DK Shivakumar.
He was speaking to media after praying at Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Temple on Thursday.
“When I was in jail, I used to get 3-4 minutes daily to speak to my family over the phone. Then, they suggested me to put the soil on my forehead considering it as prasadam of Lord Srikanteshwara. I did that everyday. Now, I have come to offer prayers to God. Though my family wanted to come, they couldn’t. My family members will also come to the temple in the coming days,” he added.
The temple administration welcomed the former minister in a traditional way. He was accompanied by former Chamarajanagar MP R Dhruvanarayan, Hanur MLA R Nagendra, MLC R Dharmasena, former MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, District Congress president Dr BJ Vijay Kumar and others. (MR/KS)
