G Madhusudhan demands CBI probe on KSOU irregularities

MLC G Madhusudhan has demanded CBI probe into the alleged financial irregularities at KSOU in which Mysore University Vice Chancellor Prof K S Rangappa is an accused.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Madhusudhan said that he has written a letter to Governor Vaju Bhai Vala requesting immediate arrest of Prof K S Rangappa, Prof M G Krishnan and others against whom FIR has been registered at Jayalakshmipuram Police station over the financial irregularities at Karnataka State Open University.

This will be a fitting case for the CBI to probe given international ramifications and investigations have to be conducted at various places in the country. The accused have cheated lakhs of students who got admitted to KSOU. The KSOU illegally offered outreach programmes which were not given admission by the UGC.

Terming Rangappa’s visit to US to attend AKKA Sammelana as a tactic evade to avoid police from arrest, Madhusudhan said, taking advise from his advocates, Rangappa has fled to US.

Madhusudhan urged the police to register a cheating case (under IPC Section 420) against Rangappa and others involved in the case.

Meanwhile, the III additional district and session court posted the hearing of anticipatory bail petition of Prof K S Rangappa to August 30.
