Gaana-Yaana, an inter-high School singing contest in memory of the founder President late Bahusar Narayan and Lalitha Bai was held at Maharshi School recently.
Chief Guest Rachappa, retired music teacher, regretted at the loss of values in students and said: “the usage of cell phones and other modern gadgets have eroded our culture.”
Noted musicologists Pushpalatha, Mahalinga, Veerabhadra Hiremath, Devanand Prasad, Indrani Anantharam and Nithin Rajaram Shastri were the judges of the contest. Students from around 40 schools participated.
Noted Singer H R Leelavathi was the chief guest for the valedictory function.
Managing Trustees of the institution Bhavani Shankar and Kedarnath Bahusar, P U College Principal Mahadevaswamy, Senior Principal of Public School K R Gopalaswamy, Principal of Public School T Lakshmi, Vice-Principal of Public School Sharma, Head Master V Girish, Principal of Nursery School Usha Singh, music teachers Vidya Shankar, Sujatha and Purushotham were present.
