Gandhi Shilp Bazaar at JSS Mysore Urban Haat from November 17

Mysuru, November 15:- Craft Artists from all over our the country are coming together to create an impressive lineup of beautiful crafts for the Mysureans, ‘Gandhi Shilp Bazaar-2017 is being organised by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi in association with JSS Mahavidyapeetha- JSS Mysore Urban Haat in the city.

Genuine Artisans who produces artifacts are coming together to Gandhi Shilp Bazaar organized at JSS Urban Haat, with a wide variety of craft categories including wood, clay, cloth, jewellery and metal. At this show you will definitely see many wonderful things and you will be amazed by the talent and skill of the crafts persons. The uniqueness of handmade crafts is what is most appealing. Even though an artist may make a thousand mugs, each will be unique in some tiny way.

Craftsmen who are National and State awardees will present live demonstrations in Art and Craft making and will display Kasuthi sarees, Tussar silk sarees, Kantha stitch sarees, Banaras sarees and dress materials, boutique sarees and dresses and Bengali cotton sarees. They will also display Kashmiri handlooms, wood carving and furniture from Saharanpur, wood inlay, chicken embroidery, modern art murals, ceramics, Madhubani paintings, Rajasthani miniature paintings, Rajasthani embroidery and footwear, Gujarati dresses, dried flowers, a variety of leather items, various jute products, vegetable print dress materials, artificial and imitation jewellery and gem stone jewellery. Marble paintings, Karnataka silk sarees, Chennapattan toys and plenty of terracotta items among other handicraft and handlooms items will also be displayed.

 

This wide range of handicrafts will be displayed from November 17 to November 26 for 10 days at the venue.

The Exhibition will be kept open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday at 4.00 P.M, by Dr Rajvir Pratap Sharma IPS, ADGP and Managing Director, Karnataka State handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., Bengaluru.

Dr C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSSMVP will preside over the function. S P Manjunath, Secretary-I, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, G Shivashankar, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayath,  Mallikarjunaiah, Regional Director(Southern Region), Ministry of Textiles, Chennai,  Dr C Ranganathaiah, Director(P&D), JSS Technical Education Division, and Sashidhar, Asst Director, Handicraft Marketing & Service Extension Centre, Mysuru are the chief guests of the event. There is no Entry & Parking fee for exhibition.
