Geeta Vadya Natana Sammilana on January 11

Mysuru, January 09:- Ganabharati is organising a unique programme  ‘Geeta Vadya Natana Sammilana’ on 11th Janaury at 6 PM at the Veene Sheshanna Bhavana in the city.

A dancer, a vocalist and an instrumentalist will come together to interpret the same compositions.  Here each artiste will exploit the scope of their art medium without compromising their art form and create a dialogue with the other artistes  in a spirit of exploration.

Dance will be performed by Vid Archana Bhat, flute by Vid Smitha Srikiran and vocal by Vid M A Jyothi., natuvangam by Nayana, violin by Vidwan  Keshava, mridangam by Tumkur B Shashishankar and Vid A Radhesh.

Artiste Profile:

M S Archana Bhat:

She was interested in Bharathanayam from a very young age. She started learing under Vid Lakhminarayan, Guru Nirupama, currently learning under Padma Bhushana Dr. Padma Subrahmaniam. She has secured Vasundhara Doreswamy Gold Medal in M. A. in Bharata Natyam. She is a ‘B’ Grade artist in Doordarshan, Bangalore. She has performed in many prestigious sabhas like Shanmukhananda Hall, Ananya, Jaganmohan palace. She has also performed in many festivals like Karavali Utsav, Hampi Utsav, Pattadakallu Utsav, Tumkur Jilla Utsav

Smitha Srikiran:

 Smitha is leading Flutist. She learnt flute under the tutelage of Vidwan A.V Prakash and vocal under  Vidushi Dr R N Srilatha. She got first prize in AIR national level competition. She is ‘B high’ graded artiste in the AIR. She has received many awards like Ananya Yuva Prathibe Puraskar, She has performed in many prestigious sabha like Shruthimanjari foundation, Ganapathi Sachidananda Ashram, Yuvadwani, Mysore Palace Durbar Hall, SPVGMC Trust, JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Ganakalaparishat, Ganabharathi, Bidaram Krishnappa Mandira, Prasanna Sundara Ramandira, Sushira. She has also performed in Pondicherry, Chennai, Vijayawada. She has started a music school ‘Taranga’ to train students.

Vidushi M A Jyothi:

Jyothi is a versatile musician, proficient in Carnatic vocal and violin. Her initiation into music began at home by her mother Smt. Neeraja Achuta Rao. She has also learnt vocal under Guru Vid Neela Ramagopal and violin from violin maestro Padmabhushana Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman.  She is a ‘B high’ artiste of the AIR.  She has given vocal performance all over India and in London. On the violin, she has to her credit, playing accompaniment to many senior artistes as well as giving solo and jugalbandi performances. She has brought many albums and recordings.
