Two under graduate students of the University of Applied Sciences, Regensburg, Germany, are selected for the international internship programme at National Institute of Engineering’s entre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies.
Leon Schumm and Miriam Zimmermann will work on renewable energy projects. During their 5-month internship at NIE, these students will work on implementing and optimising the solar cooker by designing innovative, compact, portable and economical solar cookers. The fabrication of such solar cookers can be done locally using the raw materials available. The students will also work on integrating solar power to Micro grid and microcontrollers for renewable energy-based micro grid.
S Shamsundar, Associate Professor and Head, NIE-CREST, Department of Mechanical Engineering is the supervisor and coordinator for the activity.
