Giraffe, Hippo calves born in Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru, May 30:- Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens on Tuesday announced the birth of a Hippopotamus calf and Giraffee calf.

According to a press release from the Deputy Conservator of Forests and Executive Director of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens C Ravishankar, “A hippopotamus calf to Krishna and Jaleshi Hippopotamus was born on May 16 and a female Giraffe calf to Krishnaraja and Kushi Giraffes was born on May 26 at the zoo.

“Both the mothers are nursing their babies very well and feeding the calves and it is hoped the calves will be looked after well by their mothers. Zoo veterinarians are taking all precautionary measures for the well-being of both, the mothers and the calves,” the press statement added. -(KK)
