Girija Kalyanotsava of Sri Shidlumallikarjuna Swamy on Feb 9 at Bettadapura; Brahmarathotsava on Feb 10

Mysuru, January 18:- Sub-divisional officer BN Veena has instructed the authorities to provide necessary facilities to devotees attending Girija Kalyanotsava of Sri Shidlumallikarjuna Swamy on February 9 and Brahmarathotsava on February 10 to be held at Bettadapura in Periyapattana taluk.

She was speaking at the preliminary meeting held at the temple premises on Friday. “The auction of cattle fair will be held on January 27. Additional health camps should be conducted by the Health Department for the public as well as cattle coming to the fair. Police must take precautionary measures to avoid any mishaps as thousands of devotees climb the hill during the fair,” she instructed.

She also instructed CESCom to illuminate the temple and hills on the occasion. “Drinking water facility and sanitation must be maintained by the gram panchayat. PWD should take action to close the potholes on roads leading to the village and the hill,” she directed.

Tahsildar Shwetha N Ravindra, gram panchayat president Yashodha, vice-president Geetha, taluk panchayat member Kunjappa Karnad, gram panchayat member Rajashekar, Devaraj of Farmers’ Association, leaders Neelayya, Shivaraju, Kumar, Rajanna, Mahendra and others were present. (MR/KS)
