Prime News, state (Bengaluru):- The much-anticipated annual second PU results were announced by Primary and Higher Education Minister Tanvir Sait on Thursday afternoon.
This year too was no exception as girls outdid the boys with higher passing percentage. In all, a total of 52.38% students have passed in the state. Udupi came first in the district-wise performance with a pass percentage of 90.01%. Dakshina Kannada has been adjourned as the second best in the state with 89.92%, while Uttara Kannada came third. The disappointment run for Bidar continued as it has the least percentage of pass percentage in the state.
The tradition of announcing the toppers of each stream has been stopped this year by Sait. He cited that “The names of the toppers are reportedly been misused by certain colleges. Keeping this oin view, names of toppers will not be revealed by the government.”
About 132 colleges have registered zero passing percentage in the state. Around 45,983 students have passed with distinction.
The highest marks scored in science, commerce and arts are 596/ 600, 595/ 600 and 589/ 600 respectively.
The supplementary exams will be conducted from June 28 to July 8. Students who wish to ask for a copy of their answer sheets will have to pay Rs 400.
The results will be displayed at all the colleges tomorrow. (PR/MR).
