Give importance to cleanliness in Nanjangud: MP

Mysuru, September 18:- Member of Parliament Dhruvanarayan on Monday instructed concerned officials to maintain cleanliness at Nanjanagud as the city needs to work in that direction.

He was speaking at a progress review meeting held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Nanjanagud.

“Villages and towns in the taluk lack cleanliness. Officials and public representatives should work together to make the Swachh Bharat dream come true. N H road needs street lights. Rural areas should be developed using the government funds. Around 38,000 toilets have beene planned to be constructed in the constituency. Eight thousand toilets have already been being constructed,” he said.

Dhruvanarayan was visibly upset with those officials who failed to attend the meeting and asked concerned higher-ups to serve show cause notice.

Convener of Dalit organisations and president of Raitha Sangha, Vidyasagar alleged that taluk panchayat CEO Revanna has insulted women during awareness campaign and led a protest.

Police sent the protesters out and tried to pacify them.

MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, Zilla Panchayat member Latha Siddashetty, city council president Pushpa, vice president Pradeep, taluk panchayat president Mahadevappa, tahsildar Dayanand and others were present. (MR/KS).
