Mysuru, June 4:- “If students are given legal awareness along with conventional education, there will not be room for any problem,” said District Judge S K Vantigodi here on Monday.
He was speaking after inaugurating Legal Education Club at Kuvempu High School at Kuvempunagar here, organised by District Legal Services Association, Education Department and District Bar Association.
“When we were studying, schools didn’t have proper basic amenities. If one student had one textbook, the other student had another text book. It is not the case. The government provides everything to the students now. As per the guidance of the Supreme Court, every citizen should have legal awareness. It is provided at schools to avoid any problem in future. These days, students have higher Intelligence Quotient (IQ). They can easily operate computers. Debates and essay competitions can be organised for the students to make them more knowledgeable,” he added.
Deputy Director of the Education Department, Mamata; senior Civil Judge Mohammed Mujirulla, BEO Shivakumar, Principal M L Chidananda Kumar, Prakash M, Srikanta Shastry and others were present.
