Mysuru, June 12:- A person who stole gold faking as a customer at a gold shop on JLB Road here has been arrested.
The accused has been identified as Siddaraju alias Pavi, 22, of Hajjur village. The police have recovered three gold dollars and two rings. He had faked as a customer at Payal Jewelry at Hunsur on JLB Road and stolen 3 gold dollars. The shop owner didn’t notice the incident.
Siddaraju visited the shop on June 8 and said he doesn’t need the dollar and asked to show rings and stole 2 rings when the shop owner was busy. When the shop owner inspected, he found gold rings were missing. They observed the same person on June 10 on a Yamaha bike. When the shop owner tried to catch him, he ran away. The shop owner immediately called the police. Hunsur Police arrested the thief along with the stolen gold.
Sub-Inspector JE Jagadish, head constable Jagadish and Ravi held the operation. (MR/KS)
