Golden age can be re-established: Yaduveer Wadiyar

Mysuru, July 30:- Titular king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inaugurated Namma Mysuru Foundation and CAD Solutions Technologies Pvt Ltd at Sri Kantheerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar Sports Club in the city on Monday.

“I have been interacting with Namma Mysuru Foundation for the last two years. We have to work for the protection of the environment along with protecting tigers. It is our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. I am happy for using my grandfather’s photo for the initiative. He was the first chairman of Indian Wildlife Society. Kukkarahalli Lake in the city has already been contaminated. Karanji and Lingambudhi Lakes have dried up. We are facing several problems. Solutions to these problems are in our hands. Earlier cane containers were used to bring offerings and flowers to Chamundi Hills. Now devotees carry plastic bags. My grandfather’s era was called the ‘golden age’ of Mysuru. I wish to see that happen again. If we have a positive mindset, we can do that again,” he said.

Dr H Sudarshan, official of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Yatish MJ, additional commissioner of MCC Bhaskar MK, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mysuru Division Dr KC Prashanth Kumar and others were present. (MR/KS)
