Directives to states from the Centre for stricter action against people indulging in public nuisance (as part of Swachh Bharat) is a welcome move. We, as individuals are great (?) but, as a nation lack discipline and decency in public life. Majority of our politicians and bureaucrats are examples. In such situations, someone has to take the responsibility of teaching the citizens about the discipline and its need in nation building. Smaller countries in Asia, Singapore in particular, are the best example. While the directive is absolute need of the hour, simultaneously, there should be immediate action/s to provide facilities for public conveniences from the respective municipalities or corporations. Alternatively, private sector should be encouraged to build such facilities under corporate social responsibility.
