Mysuru, January 23:- Mysuru Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and MSME organised Gem portal and public procurement policy on Wednesday.
Former president of FKCCI Sudhakar S Shetty inaugurated the event.
“Though there is 3 per cent reservation for state industrialists in MSME, state and central government tenders, none of the industries has participated. Though 4 per cent reservation is available for SC and ST section, only 0.2 per cent have made use of it. All these benefits are available in documents, but not in reality due to lack of publicity and awareness among industrialists by the government and government officials,” he said.
“Women entrepreneurs should be given higher prominence. 50 per cent of Indian population is women, women entrepreneurs are not getting encouragement. Women empowerment should not be limited to speeches and documents. The district in-charge minister should discuss with industrialists and merchants once in every three months to know their requirements. MCCI, APMC, Hotel Owners’ Association should hold a discussion with the district in-charge minister,” he advised.
Satish of MCCI, Suman S Raju and others were present. (MR/GK)
