Govt issues security advisory for Indian journalists in Afghanistan as Taliban advance towards Kabul

Prime News, International (Kabul), August 13:- On a day when the Taliban took control of three more provincial capitals in Afghanistan, including Herat–the country’s third largest city–and advanced towards the capital Kabul, India has issued a security advisory for Indian nationals in the war-torn country, specifically for journalists.

The Indian Embassy in Kabul said recent incidents in Afghanistan involving Indian nationals show that they are not heeding to the Embassy’s security advisories and “continue to put themselves in mortal danger”.

“A recent case that required emergency air rescue of three Indian engineers who remained at a dam project site in an area not under the control of government forces, has brought to light that Indian nationals receiving this Embassy’s advisories are not heeding its advice and continue to put themselves in mortal danger,” the advisory said.

It urged all Indian nationals to “fully adhere” to steps in the security advisories issued from time to time. (MR, Inputs: Agencies).
