Mysuru, August 3:- Forest Minister R Shankar on Friday said that the state government is against allowing movement of vehicles at Bandipur National Park during night.
He was speaking after planting saplings at Government Guest Gouse in the city.
“I object any plan to allow vehicles through Bandipur National park during night. We should not allow vehicles to ply through Bandipur during night following pressure from Kerala government. It will certainly affect the wildlife. I will discuss the same with the Chief Minister,” he added.
“On assuming charge as minister I have been visiting all the places in the state. Seedballs are planted everywhere at a cost of Rs 10 crore. We are planting saplings at places where the trees have been cut down for widening the road. The government will hire 3,500 employees for the forest department,” he added. (KS, NGB)
