The members of Government Pre-University Guest Lecturers’ State Coordination Committee on Wednesday took out a huge rally to protest against the state government decision of recruiting PU lecturers and various other demands.
Hundreds of lecturers took out a protest rally from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple premises and urged the state government to immediately stop the recruitment notification for appointing 2,160 assistant professors. They said that there are over 4,500 and odd guest lecturers working at PU Colleges across the state, the government has recently announced to recruit 2,160 assistant professors which would result in taking away the jobs of guest faculties working in various colleges in the state.
“The state government has failed to address various issues of guest faculties even after bringing it to the notice of concerned authorities and ministers. The concerned officials and state government must address the issues seriously and take necessary decision for the welfare of the guest lecturers.”
Dr H Somashekhar, Rajesh Kumar, Dr K PRadeep Kumar, Nagarjun D and others participated in the protest rally.
