“Various schemes and programmes are introduced to bring in equal status for disabled in the society,” said DC Randeep.
He was addressing a gathering after the inauguration of cultural programme for disabled organised by the district administration in association with Zilla Panchayat, Women and Child Welfare Department, Department of Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare in the city on Saturday.
He said: “With an intention to develop confidence and muster support for life of disables, various government schemes and programmes are introduced. Various programmes including sports, cultural competition for disables as part of the World Disability day is organised. Students must participate and make use of these platforms.
“With an aim to help the disabled and muster support for the rights and of persons with disabilities we are organising the world disability day in the city on December 3 at exhibition grounds,” he added.
Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare K Radha, Programme officer Nagesh, Sridhar Dixit and others were present.
