Mysuru, December 13:- All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru, will have its “Graduation Day” on December 14 at the Seminar Hall, Knowledge Park, Naimisham campus here at 11 am. Certificates will be awarded to the outgoing graduate, post-graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students in the field of speech and hearing. About 100 students are expected to receive their degrees on this day.
The institute started with one post-graduate programme in 1966 and now offers many courses including three Diploma programs (Diploma in Hearing Aid and Earmould Technology, Diploma in Training Young Hearing Impaired Children and Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech-through distance mode); two undergraduate programmes (B ASLP and BEd SpEd- Hearing-Impairment); PG Diploma programmes in Clinical Linguistics and Forensic Speech Science and Technology; three Post-graduate courses (MSc in Audiology, MSc in Speech-Language Pathology and MS Ed-Hearing-Impairment). The Institute offers PhD programmes in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and also Post-Doctoral Fellowships.
AIISH is committed to bringing out quality professionals who can meet the challenges of helping individuals to overcome the debilitating effects of their communication disorders.
Prof S Vidyashankar, Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, will deliver the graduation day address.
Dr Anil Kumar, Deputy Director General (Deafness), Directorate General of Health Services, MoHFW, New Delhi, will present the gold medals. Prof B Rajashekar, former Dean-MAHE and Professor – Department of Speech and Hearing, Manipal College of Health Professions, MAHE, Manipal, will lead the graduates to take their oath.
