Grama Vikas scheme yet to see light in T Bettahalli

Mysuru, November 25:- The major project of the central government to provide proper roads and drainage system to villages has failed at T Bettahalli in T Narasipura taluk. The MLA, Ashwin Kumar, had offered Bhumi puja for the road works several months ago, but the work has not yet begun.

The MLA had inaugurated the road work months ago, but no progress has been made. Former minister Dr HC Mahadevappa and former Chamarajanagar MP R Dhruvanarayan had selected T Bettahalli for Grama Vikas scheme of the central government. Rs 20 lakh was sanctioned for road works and Rs 15 lakh for drainage.

Later, Dhruvanarayan lost the Lok Sabha elections and Ashwin Kumar became the MLA. He performed Bhumi puja for the proposed road work, but the officials of KRIDL have not visited the spot at all. The amount has been transferred to KRIDL on April 30. But the officials and the MLA are least bothered to complete the work.

Though the T Bettahalli village is situated between historic Talakadu and Mudukutore, the delayed road works are holding back the development. Most of the development works of KRIDL are under the control of Ashwin Kumar and those who are close to him only have taken the responsibility of the road, but the works have not yet been undertaken.
