Grand Mercure Mysuru hosts Dalai Lama

The Tibetan spiritual leader Nobel laureate Dalai Lama, was in Mysuru to attend the 97th Convocation of the University of Mysore and deliver the convocation address. During his two day visit to the city, The Dalai Lama was hosted at the Hotel Grand Mercure Mysuru on New Sayyaji Rao Road.

The Tibetans dressed in their traditional attire, Chupa, had gathered in large numbers to get a glimpse of their leader. The Dalai Lama, who is the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace (1989) was conferred with an Honorary degree along with Pramoda Devi Wadiyar during the Convocation at UoM.

Speaking on the occasion, Sachin Malhotra, general manager of Grand Mercure Mysuru said “We are honoured and delighted to host The Dalai Lama and we thank him for choosing to stay with us.
