Legacy behind KRS backwaters

  • A scenic place it always attracts tourists in large numbers.
  • It is also called as blue lagoon. Venugopalaswamy temple, Meenakshipura and the Bore Anandooru are some of the star attractions.
  • Bore Anandooru belongs to Yelwal hobli and it’s a can’t-be missed location.
  • Bore Anandooru has 7 villages which are all dotting the periphery of KRS backwaters.
  • Bore Anandooru is famous for three 600-year-old temples.
  • In 2000, Narayanaswamy temple, Kanneshwara temple and Kalamma temple which were once submerged in water appeared again.
  • Now again after 16 years, now the same temples are back in the news, thanks to low water level in KRS
  • Villages that depend on the Cauvery water for cultivation are panicking. They are against releasing water to Tamil Nadu.
