GSSSIETW holds workshop on “Brainstorm on Embedded Systems using ATmega 382”

Mysuru:  Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru, accredited by NBA, New Delhi, organised a two-day workshop for 2nd year ECE students on “Brainstorm on Embedded Systems using ATmega 328” under IQAC from March 7 to 8.

Thejesh P, founder and CEO, Loginware Softtec Pvt. Ltd, Hassan, was the resource person. The session commenced by welcoming the panel members, resource persons and participants by Chitrashree P, 2nd year ECE student. Dr. Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, conveyed his best wishes for the event.
Dr. Rajendra R Patil, Professor & Head, Dept. of ECE, briefed the participants about the workshop. He called upon all the participants to make the best use of this workshop as it helps to create synergy between them and enhance knowledge.
Thejesh gave a presentation on Embedded Systems using ATmega 382. He initiated the workshop by highlighting the roles and responsibilities of Electronics and Communication Engineers towards society. The session continued with a brief introduction to embedded programming. The ATmega328 was taken as an example and gave a detailed review of various functionalities of the controller followed by a hands-on session.
Hands-on sessions included uploading and simulation of programs such as turning on  LEDs, LDRs relays, buzzers and interfacing of sensors.  Students actively wrote embedded programs in Atmel studio and simulated the same. This session was supported by Dhananjaya, Tejas Upadhyaya and Prashanth, Embedded Engineers, Loginware Softtec Pvt. Ltd.
Dhananjaya concluded the session by an inspiring talk on “How Engineers can make a difference in the Society”. He also shared about the hardships faced to flourish a start-up and the hard work behind it. As a whole, the session was very interactive, informative and would help us go a long way in our educational journey.
Resource persons clarified all the doubts and questions asked by participants. This workshop was appreciated by all the participants. (AM).
