Mysuru, August 11:- GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sannio, Italy. The main objective of this MoU is to promote and encourage cultural and scientific exchange between two different countries. This includes working together in good faith to examine and determine the feasibility of pursuing the project in relation to exchange of undergraduate and/or graduate students, faculty members and/or research scholars and joint research activities. Further, this MoU intends to exchange visits of members of the teaching and research staff of the units, intended to promote seminars, conferences, courses to carry out joint research projects and to discuss experiences in fields of common interest, and so forth.
GSSSIETW was established by Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha in 2003. GSSSIETW is the first exclusive women’s engineering college affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and is approved by AICTE New Delhi and the Government of Karnataka. GSSSIETW is accredited by NAAC with Grade ‘A’ and NBA twice (01.07.2017 – 30.06.2020 & 01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023).
To create a synergy between the strength of two organisations and extend its benefit to students, an MoU was signed after an online Webex meeting. The members present in the meeting were Prof Silvia Liberata Ullo, Professor, Engineering Department, University of Sannio; Professor Biagio Simonetti, Rector for International Agreements, University of Sannio; R K Bharath, CEO and MCM, GSSS; Dr M Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW; Anupama B Pandit, Administrative Officer, GSSSIETW; MoU coordinators Dr Parameshachari B D, professor and head, Department of TCE, GSSSIETW; Dr G Manjula, associate professor and HoDs of various departments were present.
