Mysuru, February 19:- Four projects of the Department of Information Science and Engineering of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, KRS Road, Mysuru, have been shortlisted for AICTE Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards 2020.
The Vishwakarma Awards are inspired by the spirit of engineering and creation patronised by Lord Vishwakarma, the ruling deity of construction practices in India.
The Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards are proposed on the Theme of – India’s Economic Recovery Post-Covid; Reverse Migration and Rehabilitation Plan to support “Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The awards are thus a means to provide a platform to look at the societal challenges, with an aim to provide innovative and low-cost solutions.
Projects: “Web crawler for child sexual abuse using convolutional neural network (CNN)” by Harshitha N, Harshitha V and Taslima Khan, guided by Dr Reshma Banu, professor and head, Department of ISE. This project will relate to gender-responsive mechanisms to combat domestic violence.
“Self-efficient and sustainable autonomous lawn mover” by Neha Kowshik V, Meghana S, Likitha S and Vaidehi M Purohit, guided by Dr Reshma Banu, professor and head, Department of ISE. It promotes value-added agricultural products.
“COVID-19 vaccine provenance using IoT” by Mahima R, Medha R, Rashika S and Yashaswini P, guided by Ayesha Tarannum, assistant professor, Department of ISE for ensuring occupational health and safety issues.
“RFID based smart ticketing system for public transport system” by Shreya M G, Ranjitha S K and Sanjana K J, guided by Thangamma K C, assistant professor, Department of ISE. This project is about reskilling /upskilling for ensuring livelihood. (MR)
