Mysuru, July 19:- Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda visited Maharani Science College for Women here and listened to the grievances of the students. He gave a piece of his mind to the Principal of the college and Joint Director of the Education Department.
After he received several complaints about lack of basic facilities at the college, he visited and held discussions with the students who explained their problems. Devegowda asked the Principal whether he has written a letter to the government explaining the problems of the college. He told the principal and the joint director that he would get them transferred elsewhere if they don’t solve the problem of the students.
He promised the students that he would visit the college with the Deputy Commissioner for spot verification for the construction of new classrooms. He said that the government would provide adequate funds to construct laboratories and a library of international standards. He told the students the work will be done in the due course.
He said that drinking water will be provided to the college by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Around 35 labs and 16 classrooms will be constructed at the college. He instructed the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner to get the toilets cleaned and provide e-toilets at the college. (MR/KS).
