Guest lecturers demand job security

Mysuru, August 4:- Guest lecturers, who have been at the receiving end most of the time, have requested the state government to give them job security and also pay full salary for the Covid-19 lockdown period. The Post-Graduate College Guest Lecturers’ Association was protesting near the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday (August 4).

MLC Marithibbegowda, who was present during the protest, also extended his support. The protesters said, “The guest lecturers are not taken into account. We have been rendered useless by the state government. With its recent notification, the government, it seems, wants to retire all the guest lecturers. As in Haryana and West Bengal, the guest lecturers should have job security. What we lost during the lockdown should be duly compensated.”

District unit president Mahadevaiah K, vice-presidents Dr Sumithra, Dr Mahesh N, Nagarjun, general secretary Hanumanthesh, Dr K Prakash, Dr Mahesh J and others were present. (MR/KS)
