Guest lecturers demand regularisation of service

Prime News, Karnataka, Education, Mysuru, September 18:- Guest lecturers, who have been working in Government First Grade Colleges in the state, have been protesting since four days. They staged a demonstration here on Saturday (September 18), urging the state government to regularise their services. They demanded the issue be tabled in the Assembly and Council for clearance.

The teachers, who were protesting near the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s office, said, “From the year 2000 till this year, around 14,564 guest lecturers have been rendering selfless service. A recommendation has been made to the state government to regularise our services. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai should discuss our issue in the Assembly and Council to proceed further.”

District president Hanumanthesh, vice president Balasubramanyam, Dr Mahesh G, Shyamala G, Dr. Anil Kumar R, Ananth Kumar, Manasa and others were present during the protest. (MR/KS)
