With some of the Hindu organisations planning to celebrate Hanuma Jayanti on December 12, the police department has given them permission but with some riders. With Id Milad being celebrated the next day, police are taking all precautionary measures to avoid untoward incidents.
Addressing the press here on Saturday, Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannanavar said in view of the celebrations, respective communities have been given permission but have been told to exercise restraint. “Leaders of Muslim and Hindu communities will be called for a talk to discuss pros and cons ahead of the celebrations.”
To maintain peace on December 12 and 13, SP said a strong police battalion will be on its toes to prevent miscreants from trying to take law into their hands. Channannanavar asked people to cooperate with the police to maintain law and order. “Anyone trying to disrupt peace will be dealt with seriously.”
SSP Kala Krishnaswamy, DSP Savitha Hoogar, Inspector Dharmendra, Sub Inspector Shanmugha were present at the press meet.
