Prime News, State (Mysuru), July 10:- Such incidents are nothing new. A woman, who was not willing to go back to her husband, who was harassing her consistently, has been finally rescued by the Women and Child Welfare Department.
The woman was facing constant harassment from her husband and his family members who were forcing the woman, Sudharani, to return to her husband in HD Kote. The rescue came three days ago from Santhavana Centre, run by the Women and Child Welfare Department. The woman, the mother of a 10-year-old boy, was virtually kept under house arrest for nearly two months by her husband Nagendra Prasad, who suspected her fidelity.
After the rescue, Sudharani was shifted to her parent’s house at Belthur, HD Kote. But the woman’s ordeal continued as Prasad, along with a few family members, took her to Saragur where she was allegedly compelled to agree to go with her husband.
The woman was then kept in isolation in the community hall in Sargur town and was threatened that she would have to pay Rs 4 lakh as compensation if she didn’t agree to go with her husband.
Jayasheela, a coordinator with Santhavana Centre in HD Kote, claimed she too was threatened for rescuing Sudharani. Sudharani is currently with the Santhavana Centre.
