Mysuru, January 30:- The Karnataka High Court has given a stay on the installation of the statue of seer Dr Shivarathri Rajendra seer near Gun House at Fort Mohalla in the city.
Justice S G Ramesh, P S Dinesh Kumar gave a stay after the hearing of the applications.
Akhila Bharata Kshatriya Mahasabha and Karnataka Rajya Urs Mandali had submitted objections, opposing the installation of the statue of the seer.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had conducted guddali puja for the installation of the statue of the 23rd seer of Suttur Dr Shivarathri Rajendra on August 29. An 11-feet tall statue was under construction at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Opposing the move, Aramane Ulisi Horata Samithi and various other organisations opposed the installation of the statue near Gun Gouse and submitted a writ petition to the High Court some time back.
